GEMS to Innoprise Migration Success Story: Brunswick-Glynn County Joint Water and Sewer Commission
May 21, 2014

BROOMFIELD, CO – May 21, 2014: Harris Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) is pleased to announce that Brunswick-Glynn County Joint Water and Sewer Commission is now live on Innoprise Financials.

Brunswick-Glynn County Joint Water and Sewer Commission (BGCJWSC) in Georgia migrated to Innoprise from Harris ERP’s legacy product, GEMS, which the commission has been using since 2007.

Chief Financial Officer John Donaghy spoke about the migration and implementation experience: “The implementation process for Innoprise made our conversion seem almost easy. There are so many opportunities for data verification and process testing during the conversion that we were completely confident going live.

“Everyone in our finance department is ecstatic with Innoprise. More importantly, division heads, department managers and supervisors now have a tool that allows them to be more self-reliant in managing their budgets. Innoprise provides them with all the information they need with a few clicks of a mouse.

“Valerie, our project manager, was wonderful in leading us though the process, understanding our needs and teaching us how to get the best from the system.

“The capabilities of the software and the work of the people at Harris have not only provided a vast improvement in our systems, but have brought a renewed enthusiasm to everyone who works with or relies upon financial data.”

Frances Wilson at BGCJWSC provides a user’s point of view. She “loves the new system. The ability to retrieve the information I need and the ease of voiding a check and cancelling or resetting an invoice is AWESOME.” She continues with compliments to Harris ERP Practice Manager Valerie Loyd: “Thanks so much for your time and efforts in making our conversion a success.”

Brunswick-Glynn County Joint Water and Sewer Commission is excited to move forward with Innoprise Utility Billing/CIS next. Since 2012, Harris ERP has successfully migrated five GEMS customers over to Innoprise, including the City of Durango, CO; the City of Ferguson, MO (who implemented Harris ERP’s Cloud9 SaaS solution); Johnson County, TX; Benton County, AR; and the City of Lima, OH. This month, the City of Martinsburg, WV, a SELECT customer, began implementation on its SELECT to Innoprise migration.

About Brunswick-Glynn County Joint Water & Sewer Commission

The City of Brunswick and Glynn County have long recognized the need to provide services to the region with a coordinated, planned and unified potable water and wastewater system. This effort first began with an intergovernmental agreement to provide wastewater treatment to Glynn County’s north mainland system in 1988.

In the autumn of 2004 the two governments began meeting to discuss the renewal process for the 1988 agreement. It was in these meetings and the ensuing discussions of efficiency in service delivery, avoiding the duplication of resources and preparing for growth that each government realized the community would best be served by continuing their efforts in unifying the systems.

With this goal in mind the City of Brunswick and Glynn County entered into a formational agreement on June 13, 2005 to combine their independently owned and operated water and sewer systems under a separate entity.
